Corporate events, like conferences and meetings, are the bread and butter of my working week. I often bounce from one conference to another and back again in the same week, sometimes the same day. being based in the East Midlands means I have easy access to locations like Birmingham NEC and Hinkley Island, both very popular locations for major conferences and corporate events.
This is a typical example of the sort of conference I tend to attend. This was the annual conference of the National Back Exchange. The NBE is an organisation that deal with the moving and handling and handling of people, so a large proportion of the delegates that attend are from the Social care sector, like Nurses and Care Home Staff who are directly concerned with looking after their backs and preventing injury to themselves and the patients they are caring for.
As usual I was using my incredible Fuji cameras. I really like to use the Fujis in this sort of scenario because they are almost silent so do not disturb the proceedings. There is nothing more distracting at a conference than the sound of a DSLR clicking away, especially when the delegates want to listen to the speaker, not the photographers camera gear. On this occasion I used my venerable Fuji X-Pro1s and X-E-2s, along with my X-100s. All these cameras produce outstanding digital files, coping with low light extremely well and rendering accurate colours which need very little post production. Most of the files you see below are straight out of the camera with little or no post-production.
If your organisation is planning a conference, please feel to get in touch. I am sure I will be able to help promote and record your event.
